Thai artist Alex Face has just completed a special residency at The Holdout this summer, resulting in 10 new paintings inspired by life here in Portugal.

These works form his latest exhibition, Caminhos Esquecidos, opening August 9 at Andenken Gallery, and on view by appointment thru Oct 12th, 2025

Alex Face (b. 1981, Bangkok) is one of Thailand’s most beloved and internationally acclaimed street artists. Blending delicate emotionality with bold graphic presence, his signature character — often depicted in animal costumes with a third eye — appears across walls and canvas, resonating with themes of vulnerability, hope, and urban life.

With a deep following throughout Asia and increasing interest in Europe and the US, Alex’s exhibitions routinely sell out, and this residency marks his first body of work created in Portugal.
