SHA is monitoring federal funding and policy. At this time there are no immediate changes to our programs. Housing Assistance Payments have been issued for October. We will share updates if anything changes. We remain committed to programs that provide stability and opportunity for the families we serve.

SHA is authorized by the City of Spokane, the City of Spokane Valley, and Spokane County under Washington State’s Housing Authorities Law. Although we administer federal funding, we are not a federal government body. In the case of a federal government shutdown, we will remain in close communication with our clients, partners, the public, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

HUD has advised that the public can visit the Office of Management and Budget’s website at www.whitehouse.gov/omb/ for updates when a shutdown occurs. SHA will share updates or other information impacting our programs as it becomes available.
