Daily Blotter for August 8th 2025

  • 6:24 am, Emergency Detention, Local Hospital. Contact with person experiencing mental health crisis.
  • 7:35 am, Graffiti, Lot 6. Responded to a report of graffiti in a stairwell within Lot 6.
  • 10:15 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Request from outside agency to assist in review of UW Milestone cameras for a suspect vehicle, investigation ongoing.
  • 12:12 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Contact with person regarding found property and person will retrieve items when they return to Madison at a later date. Items placed into safekeeping.
  • 12:26 pm, Theft/Larceny, Vet Med South. Contacted person regarding theft of items over the last two weeks. Investigation ongoing.
  • 3:42 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for battery to a Police Officer x2, resisting, bail jumping x2 and theft x2, after observing them in front of the Memorial Union, and recognizing them as a suspect in a theft case. Stolen bike returned to victim.
  • 11:02 pm, Other, W. Johnson St & East Campus Mall. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for speeding 39/25. Driver provided a false name, probable cause search conducted on vehicle yielded Marijuana/THC, MDMA for which driver arrested for possession of MDMA, possession of THC, obstruction, probation violation, and cited for operating without valid license and speeding. Vehicle released to passenger who was registered owner.
