The Center for Responsible Lending (CRL) is dedicated to creating a fair and responsible financial services market where fairness and opportunity drive economic security for all families and communities.

Drawing on nearly 40 years of lending experience, the CRL fights against predatory practices, including the payday loan debt trap and unsustainable student loan debt, which disproportionately impacts borrowers of color. We advocate for urgent reforms, policy recommendations, and robust consumer protection to ensure economic security.
