Advancing Equity and Economic Mobility in the South

MDC’s Passing Gear Philanthropy Institute empowers Southern foundations to combat deep, heavily racialized inequities by building the vision, will, and capacity needed for systemic change. For over 15 years, we use a cohort approach to equip foundations to reform systems in community development, health, education, and economic mobility.

By 2025, we will establish a network of 20–25 practitioners, enabling foundations to become powerful agents of change. MDC also fosters broader action through networks like "Learning for Equity," addressing the intersections of race, education, and disability. Partner with MDC to turn commitment into lasting, equitable outcomes for Southern communities.
