Open School is an innovative education program in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to serving students who need a different approach than traditional schooling. We identify students at risk and surround them with the resources necessary to succeed through academics, equity, and advocacy.

Recognizing the need for adaptation, Open School is embracing the shift to online learning, with Open School East operating remotely for the first semester. This move aligns with community mandates and addresses the historic under-serving of Black and Brown students. The organization is undergoing a leadership transition, with Yvonne Deckard serving as Interim Executive Director, ensuring continued commitment to reinventing education for all.
