The Alliance of Artists Communities (AAC) advocates for and supports vital artist residency programs. Recently, the AAC received $720,000 from the McKnight Foundation to launch a new consortium program focused on building equitable capacity in artist communities.

This initiative connects McKnight Artist Fellows with national and international residency opportunities. The AAC supports artists across all disciplines—including painters, filmmakers, and writers—by providing them with the time, space, and support necessary to create new work. These residency programs serve as research-and-development labs, fostering new ideas and encouraging the creation of remarkable creative processes.
