Transitions Family Violence Services (TFVS) is a vital nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating domestic violence across Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and York County. Since 1977, TFVS has served as a pathway to safety and hope, providing comprehensive, free services to adult and child victims and their families.

We offer essential support including emergency shelter (providing 5,415 nights), 24/7 crisis hotline services, advocacy, and trauma-informed counseling. TFVS assists survivors navigating legal issues, stalking, and human trafficking, offering safety planning and healing. We work to educate the community and rely on public support to ensure survivors receive the care they need.
