Opera for the Young (OFTY) is a preeminent producer of children’s opera in the United States, having introduced over 2.5 million children to the art form since 1970. Focusing solely on young audiences, OFTY brings live, professional, fully staged, and English-sung opera to elementary schools through annual tours.

We engage students in all aspects—from design to performance—providing professional opportunities while educating children about opera. OFTY makes this magical experience affordable for schools by offering programming at 40% of the actual cost, supported by generous funding from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government grants.
