The Morris Pratt Institute, dedicated in 1889, was a landmark institution known as the "spooks' temple" and became the "Mecca of Modern Spiritualism" in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Founded by Morris Pratt, who was deeply invested in the Religion of Spiritualism, the Institute served as a center for promoting this belief. Pratt recognized the need for educated workers to present Spiritualism to the public. The complex included lecture rooms, an office, a chapel, and dormitories. As the original land and building were deeded to the Institute, it stands as a historic legacy tied to the spiritual movement and the evolution of modern thought.
