About Snapspans

What we do:

Snapspans.com maintains and updates a database of businesses location and contact information, including name, address, phone number (also known as a "NAP" citation), website URLs, industry or business category and more.

Backstory:

Snapspans began in the mid-2000's to fill a need: when so many business directory sites were overcharging for heavily ad-laden pages and often incorrect data. Snapspans.com was built with a lean aesthetic design, without much of the boilerplate (and spam, and drama).

Coming up:

Since then, the semantic web and related big data research and tools have opened new frontiers for entity resolution and networked relationships, and Snapspans.com is absorbing new capabilities.

Snapspans is working to add more data from public sources, crawling the web, user submissions, and feedback reports.
